The Town of Arlington has created several email-distribution lists to inform residents of Town related information and activities.  A description of each email list is available below.

News and Notices Descriptions

Town of Arlington Notices: Recommended for all Arlington Residents. Receive timely news and notices from Town Hall. Official Notices include public health and public works alerts, election information, office closings, trash & recycling alerts, and special Town related events. Average 1-5 emails per week. AHS Construction Updates: Recommended for those interested in frequent and detailed updates about construction status. Information will include changes to site access, parking, deliveries, weekly work schedules. Average of 1 email per week. View sample AHS Construction Updates.

Recreation Notices: Recommended for those that are interested in Recreation programs offered, rink schedules/changes and other Arlington Recreation activities. Average 2-4 emails per week. View sample Recreation Notices.

Senior News and Notices: Recommended for Arlington’s senior population and their family, friends, and neighbors who care for them. Receive email notices when the monthly Senior Notes Newsletter is available and a variety of Council on Aging (COA) services and initiatives including, health and wellness programs, transportation, caregiver information, social activities, enrichment, and volunteer opportunities. Field Conditions Notification: Recommended for those who participate in organized sporting events and others that use Town fields; coaches, parents, athletes, and dog owners. Off-leash dog activity is suspended when fields are closed. Receive real-time field status (open or closed) of recreation fields in Arlington. Sent when status changes. Town Meeting Members: The purpose of the list is to disseminate materials to Town Meeting Members about Town Meeting (substitute motions, presentations, etc.) in advance to voting so all members can be better prepared. This is a non-discussion list. Although materials submitted to this list are restricted to members and Town Officials, the public is welcome to subscribe and receive these materials. Bids and RFPs: Recommended for vendors who are interested in providing goods and services to the Town. You may receive notification, via email, when bids and RFPs are posted. On average, one per week. View Bids and RFPs emails.

SSO & CSO Notifications: To comply with Mass DEP regulation 314 CMR 16.00, the Town of Arlington has created an SSO Notification email list. An SSO (Sanitary Sewer Overflow) is an unintentional discharge of wastewater to the environment prior to reaching a treatment facility. SSOs occur on infrequent occasions when the capacity of the sewer system is exceeded, usually due to extreme conditions such as heavy rainfall or an obstruction or break in sewer lines. We estimate 1-4 notifications per year. CSO Notifications are also sent via the email list.  View SSO Notifications page.
