  • Date: 04/21/2024 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM
  • Location: Arlington Community Center
    27 Maple st
    arlington, Massachusetts 02474
  • Introduction: The climate is changing rapidly and we need the help of the local environment to adapt. Arlington's Environmental Planner David Morgan will present on research into how we make for a green future.

By 2080, Arlington’s climate will be like that of Baltimore today, even with swift action on climate change mitigation. Adaptation is a must. The local ecology we rely on needs active management to transition, especially given our urban setting.

Town Environmental Planner David Morgan will present on the Urban Ecology Framework he is developing, including research with Tufts University. To date, the project has charted the Town's progress on identified goals for ecological land management and gathered data on the current state of the environment in Arlington. The Framework is expanding to include research into residents' environmental values and priorities as part of a global initiative.
