Mission
The Office of the Treasurer/Collector of Taxes consists of five divisions headed by the Treasurer/Collector of Taxes. The five divisions are: Treasury, Collector, Payroll, Parking Clerk, and service support divisions.
The Town Treasurer/Collector of Taxes is responsible for managing and directing the tax collection process, and for planning, coordinating, and directing the Treasury functions as they relate to the Town's financial policies. The Treasurer serves as Custodian of Funds for all Town monies. Cash management, investment management, and debt management are also among the Department’s responsibilities. The Treasurer performs his or her fiduciary responsibility by developing investment and borrowing strategies based on financial best practices, consultation with financial advisors and investment institutions, participation in government finance officer’s seminars and conferences, ongoing review of financial and investment journals and periodicals, and working on the certification process for both Treasurer and Collector of Taxes through the Massachusetts Collectors & Treasurers Association and the national Government Finance Officers Association.
The focus of this website is to assist taxpayers in the areas of real estate and personal property, parking, water, and motor vehicle excise. Our website also includes sections on our scholarship program.
