Holiday Help Program Seeks Spread Joy to Youth and Families
The Holiday Help Program is a project that assists low-income Arlington families purchase gifts for their children during the holiday season. Staff from Arlington Youth Counseling Center (AYCC) oversees the program with the support of many caring and committed community volunteers. Health and Human Services Emergency Assistance Fund
Arlington's Health and Human Services’ Emergency Assistance Fund offers limited financial assistance to Arlington residents experiencing an unexpected and short-term financial crisis. This fund was established to support low to moderate income earning households overcome a significant financial hardship in meeting their basic needs. To make a tax-deductible contribution to support the program, select "Emergency Assistance Fund" at ahhscc.org.
Migrant Families Relief Fund
Arlington’s Health and Human Services’ Migrant Families Relief Fund was established to support the essential needs of newly arriving migrant families who were displaced from their home countries and who are starting to rebuild their lives in Arlington. Among other needs, funds will help support a local English language program with Lamplight Women’s Literacy. This program provides classes twice a week to 24 migrant adults, with the aim of building the English skills needed for future employment and self-sufficiency. Funds may also be used to help migrant children attend preschool programs. Preschool participation is essential to the development of social, emotional, and language skills which children need for school readiness and success. Arlington Youth Counseling Center (AYCC)
AYCC is the leading provider of outpatient and school-based child and adolescent mental health services in Arlington, and is one of the only providers in the area that accepts youth with public health insurance. AYCC provides thousands of dollars of free and reduced fee care for clients who are uninsured or underinsured. AYCC also offers extensive community resource support and case management services to AYCC families and other community members who may be struggling to make ends meet. These services, along with our longstanding support group for survivors of domestic violence, provide hope and healing to so many in our community. Make a tax-deductible contribution to support AYCC.
Arlington Heating Assistance Program
The Town of Arlington Heating Assistance Program has been helping Arlington families with home heating emergencies for many years thanks to the generous donations from local businesses and residents. Dollars for Scholars
John J. Bilafer Arlington CSF is an affiliate of Scholarship America® to bring the John J. Bilafer Arlington CSF Dollars for Scholars® program to our community. This partnership links our community to other Dollars for Scholars® programs operating across the country and has 501(c) (3) tax exempt status. Our mission is to provide assistance for Arlington residents seeking higher education.
Arlington Patriots Day Parade
The Patriots Day Parade relies heavily on private donations to make it a success.
Arlington Commission for Arts & Culture (ACAC)
The Arlington Commission for Arts and Culture, also known as Arts Arlington, serves as the umbrella organization for Town-related arts and culture activities, including the former Public Art and Programs & Festivals Committees, Poet Laureate, and the Grants Committee (formerly Arlington Cultural Council). Arts Arlington fosters collaborations with the business community, Arlington Public Schools, nonprofits like the Arlington Center for the Arts, as well as other Town committees. Arts Arlington also manages and enhances Arlington's Cultural Arts District through community activities, advocacy, and promotion.
Elderly & Disabled Tax Relief Fund
The purpose of this fund is to provide tax relief for elderly and disabled citizens.
The Public Art Fund was created to commission temporary and permanent works of art in the public realm. Our recent efforts include commissioning artists to paint switch boxes, and the Pathways project which places temporary art along the Minuteman Bike Way, and many other efforts since 2011. The fund is administered by Arlington Public Art, a committee of the Arlington Commission for Arts and Culture (ACAC).
