Arlington Community Orchard is the town’s best kept secret, but that is not by design. Join members of the Open Space Committee, along with artists and other residents, to create signage directing visitors to the Orchard.
Ben Barkan of HomeHarvest specializes in installing edible plants, and convinced MWRA to let him use their Brattle Court lot for the orchard. In the spring of 2022, Girl Scouts surveyed neighbors and residents about the Orchard and found that residents were largely unaware of the space. They advanced a proposal for signage as a result. The Open Space Committee took up their cause and was awarded CPA funds for wayfinding signage directing Minuteman Bikeway users and Brattle Street visitors to the Arlington Orchard.
The signage will include unique, creative elements to show the Orchard’s character and community spirit. Come brainstorm with the Open Space Committee about the design and location of the signs!
