Pumpkin Collection for Composting

Pumpkins don't belong in yard waste collection

In an effort to keep pumpkins out of yard waste and away from wildlife, the Reuse & Recycling Center is hosting a drop off for residents who don't already have a subscription to food scrap diversion collection service. Drop off takes place Tuesday, Nov. 5 between 7 AM and 12 PM at the Reuse & Recycling Center, 33 Ryder Street.

Please do not place pumpkins in the yard waste. Please do not leave pumpkins out in your yard for animals, as we can never choose which animals we are feeding, and many we do not want to attract near our homes.

Pumpkins may be included in enclosed and active backyard composting setups and curbside food scrap diversion collection. Pumpkins are also allowable as trash, just the way any food scraps are.
